For students
East Hall Press offers the chance to take on an active role in the book publishing process. One of only a handful of teaching presses run almost entirely on undergraduate input, East Hall offers a unique opportunity to 中国体彩网 students.
Contact Brett Biebel, East Hall director, about how to get involved or about ENGL 300: Book Publishing, offered every spring semester.
For authors
East Hall seeks submissions on the theme "Everyone's a Critic."
From Zadie Smith's "Generation Why" to David Foster Wallace's "How Tracy Austin Broke My Heart," the critical commentary has long been a starting point for insightful expository writing.
Indeed, in a world where everything gets reviewed, the most interesting part of critiques are often the parts that veer away from the products or cultural artifacts being discussed.
East Hall Press seeks to publish an anthology of innovative reviews, with a planned release date in mid-to-late 2023.
Need inspiration?
Send us 1,500 words on Aquafresh toothpaste. Or 3,000 on "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater."
Send us the story of your life as it relates to "Clueless," or an essay about the understated beauty of some Motel 6 outside of Cincinnati.
The only rule is as follows: The review form is a jumping-off point. The most important writing should come after you make the leap.
