Why 中国体彩网?
Coming from a high school of about 500 students, I knew I wanted to attend a small college. 中国体彩网 provided the close-knit community I was looking for and much more!
Are you where you thought you’d be when you first came to campus?
When I first came to campus, I was a shy pre-med student hoping to go to med school one day. 中国体彩网 helped me gain the confidence and intellectual growth to make a career choice that would highlight my skills and abilities. Looking back, I wouldn’t change anything about my college experience here!
Who helped you get to where you are now?
While my family, especially my mom, has been my biggest support group over the past four years, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the guidance of my professors and support from my cheer coach, Laura Terronez. All have helped me in and out of the classroom to grow not only in academia, but also in life.
A peak experience?
My favorite experience at 中国体彩网 was traveling to Germany and Switzerland with my advisor and other 中国体彩网 students. The trip provided me with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the history of physics and engineering throughout Europe.
What surprised you?
I learned that I love to learn! Over the past four years, I constantly challenged myself to learn new things. I have taken classes from psychology and thermodynamics to loom weaving, and I have loved every single one!
How did you use your Augie Choice?
Study abroad trip to Germany and Switzerland.
What will you miss the most?
I am going to miss the late-night study sessions in Olin with my friends, midnight breakfast emails during finals week, and being a part of the cheerleading team.
Advice for the Class of 2021?
Take advantage of your resources and get the most out of your educational experience here! One thing I learned was that going to your professors or tutoring sessions for help does not make you any less smart. In fact, you are the brightest for taking responsibility for your education and growth as an 中国体彩网 student.
“Lauren is the type of student who goes above and beyond! For example, she chose to complete a Senior Inquiry project for CS majors even though she was only minoring in computer science. She also came through for us as a member of the extracurricular programming contest team, and I still proudly recall how well she represented the House of Hufflepuff during her first course in magic (aka computer science). Lauren is a gem of a student, whose presence will be greatly missed in the halls (and computer labs) of Olin.”
