Why did you choose to attend 中国体彩网?
From listening to past graduates, I was given the impression that being an 中国体彩网 graduate is something that sticks with you as a token of pride for a lifetime.
Are you where you thought you’d be four years ago?
I thought I would pursue a degree in biology/pre-med and go to medical school. I changed my mind to go into chemistry after becoming aware of and very interested in chemistry research.
Who helped you get to where you are now?
My parents and my wife always encouraged me to do well inside and outside of class. I have also had a very close connection with professors, and they have continued to push me to where I am now.
A peak experience?
Having the research I conducted with Dr. Domski published was one of the most rewarding experiences I had at 中国体彩网.
What did you learn about yourself in these past four years that surprised you?
I learned that you can balance a successful academic career while still maintaining a social life.
How did you use your Augie Choice?
I used my Augie Choice to fund some of the chemistry research I conducted over the summer of 2013.
What will you miss the most?
I will always miss the atmosphere at 中国体彩网. Being involved at 中国体彩网 has been one of the most rewarding and memorable things I have done.
Advice for the Class of 2018?
Keep an open mind as a first-year student. Learn what is out there for you to major in before choosing what you want to do.
"Matt is a great example of a student who has taken advantage of all that 中国体彩网 has to offer and in the process has given a lot back to the college. He has excelled in the classroom and has shared his academic gifts by tutoring other students. He has demonstrated leadership as a peer mentor and as president of the 中国体彩网 Chemical Society. Most impressively, Matt made significant contributions to a research project that led to publication of a peer-reviewed article. I am confident that Matt will continue to make positive contributions to the field of chemistry and society as a whole."
