Director, Reading/Writing Center; Professional Faculty, Assistant Professor of English

Lucas joined the 中国体彩网 community in 2011. Since 2015, he has directed the Reading/Writing Center. Located in Gerber 423, the Reading/Writing Center (RWC) and its more than two dozen peer tutors provide reading and writing assistance for all 中国体彩网 students.

Lucas's writing center experience began as an undergraduate at Knox 中国体彩网, where he worked as a writing tutor. Over the past several years, he has presented at the International Writing Centers Association (IWCA) and Midwest Writing Centers Association (MWCA) conferences, as well as the International Writing Across the Curriculum (IWAC) conference. In 2024 he chaired and hosted the Iowa+ Writing Centers Consortium conference. He is also a published poet, his work most recently appearing in elsewhere magazine.

As a faculty member in the English department, Lucas teaches ENGL 201 and 202: Tutoring Theory I & II, and provides one-on-one instruction for up to 20 students per week.

He lives in Rock Island with his wife and sons.
