Campus update for Nov. 4, 2020
Nov. 4, 2020
Suggestions for today
Elections by their very nature create tension, and this one is no exception.
Bill Iavarone, director of student counseling, has some suggestions about things to do today:
→ Talk with friends and peers to feel supported and included.
→ Go outside and enjoy the weather! Be in nature. Be mindful and in the moment.
→ Remember that to dwell on something stressful only increases anxiety and sadness.
→ Consider unplugging from the news for awhile.
Student Counseling has special times set aside today and tomorrow for anyone who would like to talk about the election. Email Cheri Mizaur for an appointment. Also, Students.Care is available 24/7.
You naturally want to meet in person with fellow students in your clubs and interest groups. But it's tricky to do while complying with the college's COVID-19 guidelines.
Now, the 中国体彩网 Strong Task Force and Student Government Association have come up with a process to make it easier to safely have in-person meetings, and they suggest several models of how such meetings can work.
First, though, student organizations must apply to hold an in-person meeting. Applications will be reviewed by members of SGA and the task force.
In-person events will be limited to 10 people or fewer and can run no longer than 90 minutes. All who attend must be masked and follow social distancing guidelines.
