Jumping in to J-term!
Classes are underway and so are many important learning opportunities outside of class.
Next Monday, we will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Ken Nwadike Jr. will give a virtual keynote at 10:30 a.m. Register to hear from this peace activist and motivational speaker.
Then on Tuesday, you are invited to a one-hour racial healing circle.
→ Looking for opportunities to get involved? The Office of Student Life is setting up a Viking Gnome Hunt and winter party, and Comedy Club is back!
Construction of the Peter J. Lindberg, M.D., Center for Health and Human Performance, is on schedule to be finished in mid-May.

Applications for the new TRIO Scholars Program will be reviewed beginning this Friday. Review will continue until all open student spots for the 2020-2021 academic year are filled. Programming will begin in spring semester.
The college will identify students with the greatest need and provide individualized academic support, guidance, mentoring and strengths-based assessment and training. Email triosss@augustana.edu for more info.

? Think "gym mentality." This means wiping down your workspace after use. Please remember to disinfect work stations, classroom surfaces and common areas you use.
? Campus Cupboard will be open from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Thursdays during J-term.
? We continue to encourage you to register for Students.Care. It is available 24/7 for medical and mental health support.

Hunter Hill '16 was named to D3hoops.com's All-Decade Basketball Team.
Dr. Janina Ehrlich has been awarded the 2020 Outstanding Studio Teacher award from the Illinois chapter of the American String Teachers Association.
If you fail to attend your J-term course you may be dropped. Students with absences should work with the Dean of Students to determine their best course of action.
You can't stay on campus if you are not enrolled in a J-term course. If you drop or withdraw from your course, you must leave campus housing.

Global Classroom Project: The adventure continues!
Dr. Kimberly Murphy, left, often leads her students on service trips to Costa Rica, but this year they will connect online through the new Global Classroom initiative.
Faculty and specialists from two or more countries work together developing a course or project in which students get acquainted virtually and learn about each other’s culture.
The project started this J-term and continues in the spring semester. Learn more.
