Updated internship guidelines due to extended spring break

If you are currently enrolled in an internship for credit, please carefully review the attached document (below) for updates related to our extended spring break.

Updated Internship Guidelines due to Extended Spring Break Reduction of Work Hours
With the reduction of one week of classes we will reduce the hour requirements for for-credit internships as follows:
0-1 Credit: 3 hour reduction from 40; resulting in 37 hours of internship work
2 Credits: 5 hour reduction from 70; resulting in 65 hours of internship work
3 Credits: 7 hour reduction from 105; resulting in 98 hours of internship work
4 Credits: 10 hour reduction from 140; resulting in 130 hours of internship work
5 Credits: 12.5 hour reduction from 175; resulting in 162.5 hours of internship work
6 Credits: 15 hour reduction from 210; resulting in 195 hours of internship work
7 Credits: 17.5 hour reduction from 245; resulting in 227.5 hours of internship work
8 Credits: 20 hour reduction from 280; resulting in 260 hours of internship work
9 Credits: 22.5 hour reduction from 315; resulting in 292.5 hours of internship work
10 Credits: 25 hour reduction from 350; resulting in 325 hours of internship work
11 Credits: 27 hour reduction from 385; resulting in 258 hours of internship work
12 Credits: 30 hour reduction from 420; resulting in 390 hours of internship work
Carefully review the following information to learn details specific to your situation
Off-Campus Internships in Quad Cities:
Students who are returning home:
o Request to work remotely on current work at home; or
o Request to be given a project that can be completed remotely at home; or
o If in a non-CORE, faculty supervised internship request alternative projects and assignments from faculty; these must be approved by faculty; or
o If in a CORE supervised internship you may contact the Assistant Director of Internships for alternative projects and assignments to make up for any unfulfilled hours; these must be approved by CORE; or
o If none of the options is feasible you may apply to have an extension to complete your internship hours. This would result in a grade of IP or In Progress. Each case will be reviewed individually and an official plan would need to be made and approved prior to the end of the term.
Students living on campus and are not able to return home:
o Continue in internship; abide by organization requirements; contact Assistant Director of Internships if circumstances change and none of following options is feasible; or
o Request to work remotely on current work; or
o Request to be given a project that can be completed remotely; or
o If in a non-CORE, faculty supervised internship request alternative projects and assignments from faculty; these must be approved by faculty; or
o If in a CORE supervised internship you may contact the Assistant Director of Internships for alternative projects and assignments to make up for any unfulfilled hours; these must be approved by CORE; or
o If none of the options is feasible you may apply to have an extension to complete your internship hours. This would result in a grade of IP or In Progress. Each case will be reviewed individually and an official plan would need to be made and approved prior to the end of the term.
Students living off campus:
