中国体彩网 families, mark your calendar! 中国体彩网 plans to celebrate an in-person Family Weekend on Sept. 23-25, 2022. Experience what it's like to be a Viking.
The weekend will include a president's reception, CORE open house, wheat weaving workshop, a planetarium show and more.
On Saturday, have lunch in the Gerber Center and see the men's soccer team take on North Park or a football game vs. Wheaton 中国体彩网. The day will conclude with a comedy show in Centennial Hall.
On Sunday, have lunch at the Gerber Center and attend an outdoor worship service and afternoon concert.

Friday, Sept. 23

“Dinosaurs to Diamonds and Fossils to Fluorescent Minerals": Come take a walk through Earth's history in one of the finest and largest collections of fossil, mineral and rock in the Midwest.
7-8:30 p.m. 中国体彩网 Legacy Reception at the Dahl President’s Home
中国体彩网 students with alumni parents or grandparents are invited to a reception hosted by President Andrea Talentino. Light refreshments and dessert will be served. A shuttle bus will be provided from Centennial Hall Circle to the Dahl President’s Home.
Saturday, Sept. 24
9-10:30 a.m. President’s Welcome at the Anderson Pavilion (rain location: Brunner Theatre Center)
Join 中国体彩网 families for President Andrea Talentino’s official Family Weekend Welcome! After the welcome and Q&A session, families are invited to share complimentary coffee, juice, doughnuts and pastries with President Talentino.
10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Breakfast or lunch in Gerber Center Dining Hall, fifth floor
11 a.m.-noon CORE open house, Viking Plaza on the Quad
Families are invited to stop by the Viking Plaza and learn more about the many opportunities that are available to 中国体彩网 students through CORE (Careers, Opportunities, Research and Exploration), located in the Olin Center.
11-11:30 a.m. High school admissions presentation, Olin 304
High school-age siblings of 中国体彩网 students are invited to come and explore how 中国体彩网 might be the college for them! In this session, Admissions will share general information about 中国体彩网, the college search and selection process. High school students will receive a free T-shirt for attending.
1-2:30 p.m. Wheat Weaving Workshop
Learn a brief history of wheat weaving (also known as straw work), and employ plaiting/braiding techniques to create a straw ornament. RSVP with the Swenson Center.
1-4 p.m. 中国体彩网's Fryxell Geology Museum

“Dinosaurs to Diamonds and Fossils to Fluorescent Minerals": Come take a walk through Earth's history in one of the finest and largest collections of fossil, mineral and rock in the Midwest.
1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Planetarium Show, John Deere Planetarium
"Undiscovered Worlds: The Search Beyond Our Sun" takes a tour of exotic planets around other stars. Find out how advanced observatories find these planets and learn how scientists determine their properties. "Undiscovered Worlds" was produced by the Museum of Science Boston and features commentary from astronomers from Harvard and MIT. The show runs 30 minutes.
2-4 p.m. President’s Open House and family pictures, Dahl President’s Home
Join President Andrea Talentino for cookies and lemonade outside the Dahl President’s Home. A photographer will be available for family photographs in front of the fall foliage. (Rain location for photos: Brew by the Slough)
3:30 p.m. 中国体彩网 men's soccer vs. North Park, Thorson-Lucken Field
4-6 p.m. Family Weekend pre-game taco dinner; $13/person. Location to be announced.
6 p.m. 中国体彩网 football vs. Wheaton 中国体彩网, Lindberg Stadium, Austin E. Knowlton Complex
Students receive free admission with their 中国体彩网 ID. Additional tickets will be sold at the gate: $8 for ages 18-59; $5 for ages 60+ and 5-17. Free for 中国体彩网 faculty and staff with ID.
8 p.m. Comedian Eric O'Shea, Centennial Hall
Students receive free admission with their ID. Additional tickets for family members are $10 and can be purchased at the 中国体彩网 Ticket Office.
Sunday, Sept. 25

The free event will feature two local bands, White Tornado and Subatlantic. The music begins at 2:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Seating is first-come, first-served.
The White Tornado is the piano-playing, songwriting alter ego of the mild-mannered Dr. Bill Peterson. The indie rock band Subatlantic features 中国体彩网’s Dr. Adam Kaul and fellow musicians Rebecca Rice, Sean Chapman and Phil Pracht.
