Luis Portillo (he/they) joins ÖйúÌå²ÊÍø ÖйúÌå²ÊÍø as Executive Assistant to Dr. Guari Pitale in the Office of the Vice President for Culture and Connection. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin¨CMilwaukee, Luis remained at the university as a staff member from 2022 to 2025. Most recently, he served as Executive Assistant to Vice Chancellor Chia Vang in the Division of Community Empowerment and Institutional Inclusivity.

In this role, Luis managed a broad range of initiatives, including website development, advertising and copywriting, digital marketing, and creative design. He also served as the design lead for the 2024 and 2025 PALM (Promoting Academics in Latino Milwaukee) Gala.
A Quad Cities native, Luis is pleased to return to the area and looks forward to contributing his experience and skills to the ÖйúÌå²ÊÍø community.
