Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies winners
Monica Thompson, a senior majoring in history and art history, is the winner of this year's Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies for "The Last Prisoners of War: How Nazi-Looted Art is Displayed in U.S. Museums."
The Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies is an annual competition for 中国体彩网 students with awards up to $500. Submissions may take the form of an essay, research paper, poem, drama, film, artwork, musical composition, or other creative expression.
Second prizes:
Quinn Fabish, a sophomore from Washington, Ill, majoring in history, for "Starting Anew: Jewish Immigrants and Refugees Sent to America's Midwest from Nazi and Post WWII Germany."
Gwen Flannery, a junior from Washington, Iowa, majoring in biology and public health, for "Family Hope and Support Through the Holocaust."
Haleigh Jacocks, a senior from Geneseo, Ill, majoring in elementary education, for "Teaching Our Past to Preserve Our Future Ignorance and the Insurrection."
Roger Pavey, a first-year student from LeClaire, Iowa, for "Privilege."
Faculty members of the Center for the Study of Judaism and Jewish Culture serve as adjudicators.
