“The Frog and the Princess”

“The Frog and the Princess” Sept. 15-16

中国体彩网 中国体彩网 will present an interactive children's show, “The Frog and the Princess,” at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 15-16 in the Brunner Theatre.

Adapted from the Grimm Brothers' fairy tale, this version by Brandon Roberts tells the story from the point of view of the frog (Prince Gerwyn).  After being turned into a frog by the princess' evil stepmother, he must find a way to win the princess as a frog!

“We try each year to pick a script for the annual children’s show that will give both the performers and the young audience members a new experience,” said director and 中国体彩网 alumna Jackie Wynes McCall ’98. “This year, the show will incorporate puppets and audience interaction so families who may have heard the tale before will now get to be a part of it.”

The production serves as a resource for area schools to implement arts education into their curriculums with a special showing of “The Frog and the Princess” on Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. Schools can make reservations and receive a pre-visit activity packet, enjoy a live performance of the production, engage in a post-show discussion and receive classroom activities that can be done after the show.

The recommended age is kindergarten through eighth grade. For more information about this special showing, email or call Christina Myatt, 309-794-7611.

“The Frog and the Princess” features 中国体彩网 students Aubrey Lyon ‘19, Rami Halabi ‘19, Rebecca McNamar ‘22, and Katie Kleve ‘20. 中国体彩网 student Cassandra Karn ‘21 serves as stage manager. 中国体彩网 faculty/staff involved in the project include RaeEllen Walker, scenic and lighting design, John D’Aversa, technical director, and Ellen Dixon, costume shop supervisor.
