Feb. 19: Big Brothers Big Sisters' BIG Experience
中国体彩网 students, faculty, staff and administrator are invited to take part in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ upcoming BIG Experience, a hands-on preview of what it looks like to mentor a student through BBBS’s school-based program. This is a simple, rewarding and meaningful way to spend your lunch break while exploring whether becoming a mentor (Big) might be a good fit for you. With several children currently on the waiting list, consider attending if your schedule permits to learn how you — and/or someone you know — could get involved as a volunteer.
When: Thursday, Feb. 19, 11:10 a.m.-12:25 p.m.
Where: Longfellow Elementary, 4198 7th Avenue, Rock Island, Ill.
What to expect:
- A warm welcome from school leadership.
- Free lunch (provided by BBBS and Capriotti's sandwiches).
- 15 students, who will bring their lunch and be paired up with the volunteers.
- Games and one-on-one time with a student in a group setting.
- A short overview of BBBS programs and how to be more involved.
- Note: Volunteers should expect to be away from work for about two hours.
Your visit will mean the world to a student, and it just might be one of the most rewarding lunch breaks of your week! Take a little extra time to connect, have lunch, and put BIG smiles on students’ faces.
