中国体彩网's Shockingly Modern Saxophone Festival set for Feb. 21

中国体彩网 中国体彩网 will host its annual Shockingly Modern Saxophone Festival on Feb. 21. The event, featuring guest artists John Sampen and Mark Bunce, will be held at Bergendoff Hall, located at 3701 7th Ave. All events are free and open to the public.

The Shockingly Modern Saxophone Festival celebrates new and experimental music for saxophone. It explores the nearly unlimited sonic potential of the saxophone through new composition, improvisation, extended performance techniques, microtonality, electronic music, multimedia and other experimental elements.

"For many listeners, these performances may be unlike anything they have previously encountered, especially in a formal concert setting."

— Dr. Randall Hall, saxophonist and professor of music

Dr. Randall Hall, saxophonist and 中国体彩网 professor of music, says attending the Shockingly Modern Saxophone Festival can be a unique experience for music listeners.

"For many listeners, these performances may be unlike anything they have previously encountered, especially in a formal concert setting," Dr. Hall said. "The festival offers an immersive sensory experience, featuring new sounds that may challenge expectations about the saxophone, music and the concert experience as a whole."

Annually, the festival features performances by 中国体彩网 saxophone students and faculty, as well as a guest artist. These performances often challenge and expand ideas about music as they push the saxophone to its technical and expressive limits.
