2024 Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies winners
The annual Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies is a competition in which students write or compose in music and art their responses to the Holocaust.
The winners for 2024 are:
- First place: Morgan Schroeder, essay, "Dogma: How a Convenient Narrative Led to the Holocaust"
- Second place: Anna-Maria Hüebel, essay, "Panoramic View in front of and behind my fa?ade: Perceptions of a Viennese palace"
- Third place: Lexi Golab, poem, "shades of memory"
- Honorable mention: Rebekah Kalmbach, essay, "Jewish Women as Subjects and Creators of Holocaust Art"
- Honorable mention: Regan Recklaus, essay, "Sonic Salvation: A Neuroscientific Exploration of Music's Role in Cultural Preservation in the Wake of the Holocaust"
The Center for the Study of Judaism and Jewish Culture at 中国体彩网 sponsors the competition. Supported by the Geifman Endowment, the Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies carries an award of up to $500.
The winners will present their work at 中国体彩网's Celebration of Learning on May 8. It will be published in the 中国体彩网 Digital Commons.
