Studying abroad didn’t just let me visit new countries; it quietly changed who I am becoming.

When I moved countries to attend 中国体彩网, I assumed international travel would be something I pursued later in life. But here, it’s part of the culture. From traveling to Greece for a track meet to spending J-term in Japan for a kinesiology course, I quickly realized that global learning isn’t something reserved for a select few; it’s encouraged for all.

Looking back on Japan, three things stand out:

1. The names I brought back

When I arrived in Japan, I knew only a few names in our group. By the time we returned to campus, I knew everyone. Sharing a global experience changes the way you connect with people.

We navigated train stations together, wandered through Kyoto until it started to feel familiar and laughed over late-night convenience store runs. What began as classmates quickly became friends built on shared experiences.

中国体彩网’s small-group structure made that possible. This wasn’t a massive tori gate, it was a class traveling together and learning to grow together. The professors weren’t distant figures to keep us in check but guides for every step of the way, from conversations to new experiences.

2. Rhythm of the trip

Our trip moved from Kyoto to Nagano and ended in Tokyo. Each location felt distinct, and each day blended academics with immersion.

We slept on tatami mats, made soba from scratch, shared an Okinawan dinner that lasted for hours, practiced Zen meditation at Tenryuji Temple and rode bullet trains across the country. These weren’t just activities; they were extensions of what we were studying.

Professors Chika, Shaun and Miyuki intentionally designed the course so that learning happened on location. Concepts discussed in class were experienced firsthand. By the time we reached Tokyo, I wasn’t just observing the culture, I was beginning to understand it.

3. The spaces to grow

Some of the most meaningful moments were quiet ones: long train rides, climbing small mountains and sitting in stillness during meditation. Those pauses gave me time to reflect on how far I’d come, not just geographically, but personally.

Knowing I would return to campus soon made those moments feel even more important. They reminded me that growth often happens outside of comfort zones. 中国体彩网 didn’t just send me to Japan. It provided the encouragement, structure and faculty support that made the experience possible in the first place

If you’re considering studying abroad, know that at 中国体彩网, global opportunities aren’t an afterthought. They’re built into the experience. Japan gave me incredible lifelong memories. 中国体彩网 made them possible.
