DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Udden Geology Club talk\, "Hotter\, Wetter\, Sneezier\, and Wheezier: Why where you live predicts your climate risk\," presented in person by alumnus Dr. Jeremy Hoffman '11\, Director of Climate Justice and Impact at Groundwork USA.Dr. Hoffman will discuss how your zip code largely predicts your lifespan. Where you live also predicts how strongly you experience extreme weather threats that are being intensified by human-caused climate change. In this talk\, he'll examine the history of place\, how that relates to present-day environmental inequality\, and most importantly\, what we're doing about it.Dr. Hoffman is an engaging\, data-driven climate science researcher and educator. He has given presentations and interviews to Congressional committees\, TEDxYouth audiences\, and the New York Times and was recently named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).This event is sponsored by the Udden Geology Club and the Department of Geology.
