Summer courses for 2024
Online registration opens April 9, 2024, and classes generally run June 3-June 28.
Here is the full list of all 2024 courses that are available for the summer 2024 registration period.
Unless noted otherwise all academic and social conduct polices for the college are applicable to summer session. Questions about policy exceptions for summer session should be directed to the Committee on Advanced Standing and Degrees and will be resolved through the Director of Summer Programs, Greg Domski.
Due to the intense nature of 中国体彩网 Summer Session, students are limited to enrolling in only one 4-credit summer session course at a time. With special permission, students may exceed the 4 credit limit if they are enrolled in an internship with dates that encompass June, July and August, or are enrolled in an approved study away experience for the entire summer. Students participating in a summer session course in June may also take an internship for credit, however the internship cannot begin until the June summer session has ended and may not exceed 8 credits, or a total of 12 total summer credits. Registration surplus beyond those limits are not approved.
Registration for summer-only (non-degree) students ends May 6. Prerequisite confirmation may be required for some courses.
中国体彩网 online summer courses are $600 per credit hour. Summer internships, research, independent study, and courses taught in-person are $954 per credit hour.
A $50 administrative fee will be applied to registrations after 4:30 p.m. on May 30.
Regular fees for individual music lessons also apply. Check individual course descriptions on Arches for any additional required fees beyond tuition.
The college reserves the right to discontinue or cancel classes that do not meet a minimum enrollment or when other conditions make cancelation necessary. See the deadline for cancelation below.

Financial aid
The primary forms of financial aid for the summer term are loans and grants.
- The Federal Direct Loan Program-students who have not used their entire loan eligibility for the academic year may be eligible to borrow the remainder of their loan eligibility for summer.
- Private Education Loans-students may qualify for a private loan. A credit worthy co-signer is required
- Federal Parent PLUS Loans-Parents may be eligible to borrow through the PLUS loan for summer.
- Federal Pell Grants-students may be eligible for grant assistance through the Pell Grant program.
中国体彩网 institutional funds are not available for summer. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at 309-794-7207 to determine if you are eligible to borrow through the loan or grant programs.
If you are receiving federal financial aid for the summer term, it is vital to check with financial aid before dropping a course. Federal regulations could result in your owing the college if you withdraw from a course, or fail to begin a course for which you have registered.
Acadeum consortial and transfer courses
中国体彩网 students have the option of enrolling in online summer courses from other colleges and universities through a course sharing platform called Acadeum.
Courses taken through Acadeum are billed at the same rate as 中国体彩网 online courses, which is $600 per credit for summer 2024 through spring 2025. 中国体彩网 helps facilitate enrollment and billing; however, students enrolling through Acadeum become students at the partnering institution for the duration of the course and are subject to that institution's policies and procedures.
Two different types of courses are offered through Acadeum, Consortial and Transfer. They differ in important ways, and not every student is eligible for both types.
1. Consortial Courses. 中国体彩网 students in good academic standing can take a summer online consortial course through Acadeum. A consortial course appears on the student's 中国体彩网 transcript as an 中国体彩网 course (though with a special section number to indicate that it was not actually taken at 中国体彩网), and the grade earned in a consortial course impacts the student's 中国体彩网 GPA. Consortial courses cannot be counted among the minimum of 60 credits in-residence at 中国体彩网 that are required for graduation, and they cannot be included among the last 12 credits applied to the degree.
2. Transfer Courses. Transfer courses are an option both for current students in good academic standing at 中国体彩网 and for former students who are not currently enrolled but intend to return to 中国体彩网 (e.g., students who are suspended for academic reasons, students taking a gap semester for personal reasons, etc.)
- As with other transfer courses, students need to complete the petition to transfer credit form before enrolling, and ideally weeks before the start of the course, to allow sufficient processing time.
- Students who wish to transfer coursework that falls in their final 12 credits toward the degree must also receive permission via a Petition to the Committee on Advanced Standing and Degrees.
- Once a transfer course is completed, the student must arrange to have the official transcript sent directly to 中国体彩网 from the other institution according to the Office of the Registrar’s instructions for sending transcripts.
中国体彩网 in Acadeum? Take the following steps:
- Contact 中国体彩网's Acadeum Initiatives Coordinator to discuss eligibility and course options.
- Explore pre-approved courses in the Acadeum Portal.
- To find consortial courses, filter by "Financial Aid Eligible". Transfer courses are not "Financial Aid Eligible".
- Do not request registration in the Acadeum Portal at this point, unless you are an eligible student requesting a summer consortial course. June 28 is 中国体彩网's deadline to submit an enrollment request for a summer consortial course. After June 28, 中国体彩网 allows summer Acadeum enrollment only in transfer courses, and you must follow the additional steps below before the add deadline for the course.
- Submit the Petition to Transfer Coursework and any required Petitions to the Committee on Academic Standing and Degrees (AS&D).
- Forward your approved Petition(s) to acadeum-and-collegesource-initiatives@augustana.edu
- Return to the Acadeum Portal and request registration in the course(s) for which you have an approved Petition to Transfer Coursework.
Important!
- If you are receiving federal financial aid for the summer term, it is vital to check with financial aid before dropping a course. Federal regulations could cause you to owe the college if you withdraw from a course or fail to begin a course for which you have registered.
- 中国体彩网 does not allow concurrent enrollment. Acadeum courses may not overlap with 中国体彩网's fall or spring semester or with enrollment in an 中国体彩网 summer course, except by approval of an AS&D petition.
- Summer graduates: Any Acadeum courses must end in time for your transcript to be received by 中国体彩网 and processed by August 16.
