Australia and New Zealand

中国体彩网 中国体彩网 has developed partnerships with universities and providers in this beautiful and exciting part of the world.

Our programs include collaboration with the universities of Auckland in New Zealand and Sunshine Coast in Australia as well as providers like CAPA.

In every case, they involve semester long experience and they provide opportunities for different majors, such as computer sciences, public health, engineering and humanities. CAPA focuses on internship opportunities in Sydney for several majors.

University of Auckland, New Zealand

Study at New Zealand’s most prestigious university in its largest city. Auckland is the perfect base to explore New Zealand and the University of Auckland is a top university where you can study in your major or explore new fields.

Sydney, Australia, study and internship; CAPA Global Education Network

Combine academics with a full-time internship as you live, work and learn in Sydney, Australia’s largest city. The Sydney Global Cities program with CAPA combines 9 credits of coursework with 6 credits of internship in your field.

Europe

The Office of International and Off Campus Programs works with several academic institutions in Europe. Our partners are universities and providers dedicated to providing students with access to different academic programs and internships across the region.

Additionally, you can travel to this part of the world with 中国体彩网 faculty during the months of January and June.

Austria

Physical Theatre Workshop J-term (THEA)

This is an intensive workshop hosted by the International University Global Theatre Experience. Students will investigate, live and breathe the works of Stanislovsky, Chekhov and Meyerhold under the direction of Sergei Ostrenko, a Russian physical theatre specialist.

It is an ideal program for theatre majors or minors, students who participate in theatrical productions and performers of all varieties.


France

Université de Pau, University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)

Spend a semester in southern France at the Université de Pau, exploring the medieval central city less than an hour from the mountains or the beach. You can choose to live with a family or in campus residence halls as you improve your French through language immersion. 

Program requires study of French, but electives in English also are available in a variety of fields, including political science communications, art history and world literature.

Summer language program, Dijon, France

The Centre International D’?tudes Fran?aises of the Université de Bourgogne, conducts a six-week program in the heart of France with immersive study of French language and culture.

During the program, students may opt to live with a local family or stay at university residence halls with other international students, enjoy a wide range of cultural activities both on campus and in the community and visit other regions of France on faculty-led overnight excursions.


Paris: American Writers J-term

One of Europe’s most important artistic, political, religious, educational and commercial centers, Paris abounds in history and culture and promises a dynamic and enriching experience.

To help students understand the relationship between modern American literature and early 20th century Paris, the class draws upon the city’s ample resources to recreate that past context.

Germany

University of Passau, Bavaria, Germany

A spring-summer program at the University of Passau in Bavaria along the Danube River. Study in English or German in a variety of fields. Explore Germany, Austria or the Czech Republic, all from your base in beautiful Passau.

No German is required, though we do recommend some language either before or during the program. 


University of Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany

Study in the heart of Bavaria this April-August semester at the University of Regensburg. An hour north of Munich, this 20,000-student university offers coursework in a variety of fields in English or German. Most fields of study are available, with particular emphasis on humanities and sciences.

Summer Language Program, Eichst?tt, Germany

The summer German program at Catholic University in Eichst?tt is a month-long immersion program for which students can earn up to 6 transfer credits in German studies.

It is appropriate for students of German studies as well as any student who wishes to develop language skills in German.


Greece

The 中国体彩网 Year in Athens program offers students the chance to spend a semester or a year in the Greek capital. The program includes a wide range of courses and the opportunity for students to choose a homestay or a shared apartment.

National University of Ireland, Galway

Spend a semester immersed in the life of the National University of Ireland in Galway.

Located on the west coast of Ireland in one of that country’s most picturesque cities, the program enrolls students in the university, where they are able to live on campus and enroll in any courses across a wide curriculum.


Dublin: full-time internship through CAPA Global Education Network

Students take a 3-credit professional development seminar and engage in full-time internships in their major as they explore the rich culture of Ireland in its capital.

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy

Study in English or learn some Italian at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in the northern city of Milan, hub of Italian business and fashion. With a variety of courses in English, you can study in your major as you explore life in Italy.

A focused 12-week program for students interested in the business and economics of food. Study the production and economic impact of Italian products known worldwide, such as wine, pasta, cheese, etc., as you live and study in the Tuscan city of Siena. Emphasis on business and economics.

Full-time internships in Rome provide students with the opportunity to live, learn and work in a bustling European capital. No Italian language is required.

The Camino de Santiago J-term (WLLC)

Three weeks. 238 kilometers. Physical challenges. Spiritual contemplation. Natural beauty. Ancient wonders. Encounters with fellow travelers from across the globe.

Leave modern comforts behind, and travel an ancient path across northern Spain. You’ll walk approximately 12 miles (20 km) per day, sleep in modest pilgrims’ hostels, and reduce your material possessions to that which can be comfortably carried in a backpack. No knowledge of the Spanish language is required.

Sevilla, Spain, Spanish Studies Abroad (SSA)

An immersion Spanish program with courses offered in multiple fields, taught in Spanish. Live with a Spanish family and choose from course options in several fields, including internship opportunities. Fields of study: Spanish, with coursework in a variety of fields, all taught in Spanish.

This immersion Swedish language program offers students the chance to live and study at a Swedish folkh?gskola or folk school. Students will study language, culture, history and travel with Swedish students on a mid-program trip. Fields of study: Scandinavian studies, with limited coursework in other fields.


Uppsala University

Spend spring semester as a student at Scandinavia’s oldest university. The gorgeous college town of Uppsala is yours to explore and experience with courses in English or Swedish.


United Kingdom

Bath Spa University, Bath, England

Spend a semester in the English countryside two hours west of London in scenic Bath. Bath Spa University provides a well-rounded liberal arts curriculum across many fields of study, on-campus housing and dynamic student life.


Edge Hill University, Lancashire, England

Edge Hill University provides a beautiful campus and one of the finest universities in northern England. Located a short train trip from both Liverpool and Manchester, EHU offers students a “college town” atmosphere, on-campus housing and a wide range of courses.

Liverpool Hope University provides a liberal arts education, a vibrant campus, a dedicated arts campus and housing for students in the city of Liverpool in England’s north. Students on this program can study in a variety of fields while living and learning alongside both U.K. and international students.

Latin America

You can study abroad in Latin America by joining the programs led by 中国体彩网 faculty. Travel to Brazil to learn more about political science or to Guatemala to experience the role of culture and economics on the psychology of children.

You also can spend a semester at prestigious universities such as Veritas in Costa Rica or San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador.

Bonaire: The Geology of the Caribbean J-term (GEOL)

Spend two weeks in Bonaire doing field work in geology and exploring how this Caribbean island in the Leeward Antilles came to exist.

This program requires sufficient swimming skills to be able to snorkel and has an option for students with SCUBA certification to go even deeper in their exploration of the island’s base.


Brazil: Afro-Brazilian Culture and Society J-term (POLS)

Travel to the heart of Afro-Brazilian culture, Salvador de Bahia, as you study the rich traditions and the contemporary struggles of this vibrant community.

On this program students will spend the three-week J-term on the Brazilian coast, first in Rio de Janeiro, then an immersion experience living with host families in Salvador. 


Chile

Santiago, Chile: Full-time internship, Institute for the International Education of Students (IES)

The IES Abroad Santiago Internship programs provides students with intermediate or higher Spanish skills the opportunity to hone their language skills while working in their major field in one of South America’s most modern and livable cities.

Costa Rica

Health Care Service Learning, International Studies Seminar J-term

Two weeks that will give you a whole new perspective on health care and your place in the world of health care professions.

Students work side-by-side with U.S.-based and local professionals to provide health care in communities that lack permanent facilities and resources. Learn about the realities of health care in the region and to lend a hand to professionals who are caring for entire communities.

Service learning opportunities include nursing, dentistry, optometry, veterinary science, physical therapy, occupational therapy and medicine.


San Jose, Costa Rica, Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) and Veritas Christian Study Abroad

This is a program designed for those studying in the pre-health fields who see value in having Spanish language skills.

This program in the Costa Rican capital will help hone those skills while giving you the chance to study public health and other related fields: Spanish, Spanish for professional use, biology (pre-health fields particularly encouraged), psychology and neuroscience.

University of Costa Rica, San Ramón, Costa Rica with University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)

Spend a semester in one of the greenest (verdant and ecologically sound) countries on the planet, an ideal location to study biology, environmental studies, Spanish and Latin American culture.

Students will live with families and attend classes at the University of Costa Rica’s western campus (Sede Occidente). All majors are eligible. Recommended for Spanish, Spanish for professional use, biology, environmental studies, public health, and Latin American studies.

Ecuador

Cuenca summer language program

Spend a summer immersed in a Spanish-speaking environment exploring the Andean region. Study language, literature, culture and art.

Choose between the 11-week program, open to students at all Spanish levels, or, for students at the advanced (300) level, there is an intensive five-week option.

Both programs include a rich selection of excursions, events and cultural events and both offer the same family stays as the housing for the summer.


San Francisco de Quito University, Quito

San Francisco de Quito is a private university in the valley of Cumbaya, a suburb of Quito, Ecuador. This private university gives students from all majors the chance to engage in academic work with students and faculty from Ecuador and several U.S. universities, while exploring the beauty and diversity of the Andes, the Galapagos Islands and the Amazon.

Guatemala: Childhood in the Developing World J-term (PSYC)

Develop a deeper understanding of how cultural, economic and social contexts influence child development in the developing world. Spend two weeks in Guatemala examining factors that impact risk and resilience in the children of that nation.

This is an outstanding program for anyone interested in education, social welfare of children, or psychology.

Mexico: Travel Writing J-term

Mexico, a geographically large nation with a rich diversity of regional culture, topography, architecture, and people, has more to offer than tacos and mariachis.

Travel through Mexico while studying and practicing the art of travel writing. In a three-week course, we will dive deep into three distinct places: Querétaro, San Miguel de Allende and Cancun.


Asia

The Office of International and Off Campus Program has developed partnerships with universities and study abroad providers in southern Asia.

These partnerships could take you to Japan, Korea and Hong Kong and are a great match for students of different majors interested in spending a semester abroad studying or doing internships.

Additionally, there also are programs led by 中国体彩网 faculty in Japan.

Cambodia

Ethical Service Learning, International Studies Seminar J-term

Spend January engaged in community projects in Cambodia as you study the values and practices that shape ethical service learning and volunteer experiences.

Students will travel to Cambodia, participate as English instructors and volunteers at a wild elephant sanctuary.


Japan

Kobe City University of Foreign Studies

Spend three months in Kobe immersed in the study of Japanese language in one of Japan’s most dynamic cities. Live on campus, engage with students from around the world and explore centuries of culture.


Rikkyo University

Spend the semester at Rikkyo University, one of two 中国体彩网 exchange partners in the heart of Tokyo. Rikkyo offers intensive immersion in Japanese language at all levels, including beginner, as well as supplemental courses in English. No prior study of Japanese is required. 中国体彩网 tuition applies.

Mahidol University through CIS Abroad

Thailand’s top-rated university, this program offers a variety of courses in English.

Students live in the serenity of the small college town of Salaya, just outside of the capital Bangkok. Explore Buddhist culture, Thai cuisine, beaches, jungles and a rich traditional yet modern culture.

January term faculty-led programs

As part of its commitment to experiential learning, 中国体彩网 中国体彩网 sponsors off-campus January term programs in which groups of 10-28 students travel with faculty in the U.S. and overseas.

J-term programs are discipline-specific, but open to students of all majors and designed to explore a new location with a specific focus.

holden village

Holden Village: Literature, Christianity and Community (ENGL) Or (RELG)

Travel across Big Sky country to Washington, and three weeks of secluded beauty and tranquility at Holden Village. No cellphones, no wi-fi, no distractions from the awesome beauty of the mountains, the crisp air of a winter sky and the peace that comes from quiet contemplation.

But don’t get too cozy. There will be hikes and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, chores to be done and a community to enjoy as you spend your January intentionally far from the normal.

This program is open to all majors. It is particularly encouraged for students open to spiritual and vocational discernment.


Louisiana: Water and Environmental Justice (GEOG)

Students will explore the Louisiana Gulf Coast region of the United States through the lens of geography. As you study about water and environmental justice issues, you will apply research and analytical skills to questions of environmental degradation, structural inequalities and the impact of hazards such as Hurricane Katrina.

The program is designed primarily for geography and environmental studies majors, though other students can join the program with permission of the instructor.


Japan: Culture and Society (JPST)

One of two partnering Japan programs which will travel jointly to Kyoto, Tokyo and Inuyama. The Japanese Culture and Society program will offer students a 4-credit course with a focus on the history, culture, religious beliefs and social structures linked to the sites visited during the three-week tour program.

Pacific Northwest: Conservation, Culture and Resilience

Stand in the shadow of volcanic Mount St. Helens and Seattle’s iconic Space Needle. Explore Olympic National Park, raft the Columbia River, taste coffee from the first Starbucks, hike through the Quinault Rainforest under 1,000-year-old trees, and study how water, settlement, climate, culture, and hazards continue to shape the region.

Along the way we will debate about the nature of conservation and hazards-based risk management and its impact on the indigenous and later-cultural settlement in the Pacific Northwest.

This program, sponsored by the Washington Internship Institute, pairs coursework in political science with a full-time internship in a student’s major field.
